摘　　要：这是关于学术界“图像转向”的两封重要通信,戈特弗里德·玻姆和米切尔以通信的形式探讨了促使他们分别提出的“图象转向”和“图像转向”的思想路径。他们在通信中分别追溯了图像研究在欧洲和美国的艺术史、哲学等知识场域中的兴起,回顾了他们展开图像研究的思想路径和方法论来源,并探讨了图像的多样性,以及“图像学”和“图像性”的一系列问题与观点。这两封信超越了对所谓“最早提出者”的争论,讨论了图像在人文科学和自然科学中的使用和处理、美学风格的历史、图像物理学的可能性、图像破坏论的地位等问题,强调“转向”本身为西方人文科学范式带来的转变。These are two important letters about the academic“iconic/pictorial turn”.In the form of correspondence,Gottfried Boehm and W.J.T.Mitchell explore the intellectual paths that led them to propose the“iconic turn”and“pictorial turn”respectively.In their correspondence,they traced the rise of image research in the intellectual fields of art history,philosophy,and so on in Europe and the United States,reviewed the intellectual paths and methodological sources that led them to carry out image research,and discussed the diversity of images,as well as a series of issues and perspectives on“iconology”and“pictoriality”.These two letters go beyond the debate who first proposed it and discuss the use and processing of images in the humanities and natural sciences,the history of aesthetic styles,the possibilities of image physics,and the status of image destruction theory.They emphasise that the‘turn’turnitself has brought about a transformation of the western paradigm of the humanities.
