摘　　要：《福尔赛世家》是英国20世纪现实主义作家约翰·高尔斯华绥的第一组小说三部曲,主人公索米斯是一个典型的“福尔赛”代表,他极其冷静、理智,意志力强,福尔赛性格驱使他尽其所能地抓住机会增加收入,将妻子、孩子、名誉都视为自己的财产,揭示出现代人情感渐趋冷漠、内心空洞,价值观、世界观等都处于被异化的状态。The Forsyte Saga was the first trilogy of novels by the British realist writer John Galsworthy in the 20th century.The protagonist Somis was a typical representative of Forsyte,who was extremely calm,rational,and has strong willpower.Forsyte personality drove him to seize opportunities to increase his income to the best of his ability,treating his wife,children,and reputation as his own property,revealing the increasingly indifferent emotions,hollow hearts,and alienated values and worldviews of the people in that era.
