摘　　要：古代桂林地理典籍蕴含大量地理名词,既是地理实体的指称,又是标记作者地理考察的“地标”,同时蕴含深厚的文化内涵。通过对古代桂林地理典籍中喀斯特地貌名词、普通地理名词、地理名胜名词、建筑地理名词的英译研究,研究深入探讨如何在地理名词的英译过程中实现精准翻译以及有效传递多元信息,从而帮助读者理解古代桂林的地理生态和人文历史,促进传统文化的传播。Ancient Guilin geographical classics entail plentiful geographical terms,which are not merely the reference of geographical entity and"landmarks"of geographical survey,but also contain profound cultural connotations.Through the research on the English trans-lation of karst geological terminology,general geographical terms,geographical landmarks terminology,and architectural geographical terms in ancient Guilin geographical classics,this study explores how to achieve precise translation and effective transmission of diverse in-formation in the English translation of geographic terms,thereby helping readers understand the geographical ecology and humanistic histo-ry of ancient Guilin,and promoting the dissemination of traditional culture.
