摘　　要：纽约时而被称为“大苹果”,时而被称为“不夜城”。纽约是美国人口最多的城市,也是商业、贸易、金融和媒体中心。这座城市常被称为“纽约市”,以区别于它所处的州。纽约市处于大都市圈,城市人口总数超过1870万。纽约市由五个区组成,因此纽约市的另一个称号是“五个区”。这五个区分别是:布朗克斯、布鲁克林、曼哈顿、皇后区和斯塔顿岛。纽约市有许多著名的建筑和景点,尤其是在曼哈顿。其中包括帝国大厦、熨斗大厦和联合国大厦。Sometimes known as“The Big Apple”or“the City That Never Sleeps”,New York is both the most populous city in the USA and a leading center of business,commerce,finance and media.The city is often referred to as“New York City”,in order to distinguish it from the state it is in.The city is part of a large metropolitan area,and the combined city population exceeds 18.7 million.New York City is made up of five boroughs and hence another nickname of the city is“The Five Boroughs”.
