摘　　要：文章旨在探讨英式英语与美式英语中的词汇差异及其背后的语言学、历史和社会文化因素。通过对比分析两种英语变体中的代表性词汇,研究了它们在日常交流、文化习惯和专业领域的差异。两种英语变体的历史演变和社会文化背景深刻影响了词汇的形成和使用,且词汇差异在跨文化交流中可能引发理解障碍。词汇差异背后的深层原因反映了两国的文化、历史和社会性质有所不同。This paper aims to explore the lexical differences between British English and American English,as well as the linguistic,historical,and socio-cultural factors behind them.By comparing and analyzing representative vocabulary in two English variants,the paper studies their differences in daily communication,cultural habits,and professional fields.The historical evolution and socio-cultural background of the two English variants have profoundly influenced the formation and use of vocabulary,and vocabulary differences may lead to comprehension barriers in cross-cultural communication.The underlying reasons behind the differences in vocabulary reflect the cultural,historical,and social differences between the two countries.
