摘 要:《京华烟云》中大量对“物”的描述因使叙事拖沓而饱受诟病,但这一叙事“缺陷”并未影响作品在中西读者中长盛不衰,“隐性进程”能为解答这一困惑提供思路。在该理论视角的指导下,辅以语料库的统计与描写分析,本文以高频名词“树”为例探讨小说中物的隐性叙事进程及其特色与意义。研究表明,树在小说中经历了从辅助叙事、融入叙事到成为叙事的动态演变,折射出人物的认知发展与哲学观的成熟。这一隐性叙事进程,多头并进、杂而不乱,散文化、哲理化,与显性叙事互补,与中西叙事传统互文,突破了以人类为中心的文学视角,赋予作品丰富的内涵和深远的意境。The abundant descriptions of various things in Moment in Peking have incurred criticism for slowing down the narrative,yet this has not prevented the work from enjoying enduring popularity among western and Chinese readers.The puzzle could get explained from the perspective of"covert progression"Aided with corpus-based statistical and descriptive analyses,research conducted from the perspective of"covert progression"reveals that in Moment in Peking,trees evolve from supporting narration,integrating into narration to dominating the narration,reflecting the cognitive and philosohpical growth of the main characters.The covert progression in the novel is featured by its structured multi-directionality,its prosification in form and philosophization in content.It is complementary with the overt progression,and exhibits intertextual relations with Chinese and western narrative traditions.It breaks through the limit of man-centered perspective in literary works,endowing the work with depth of thought and enduring charm.
