摘 要:人工智能的文本生成方式,引发了巨大争论。或许可以从符号学一些被讨论者忽视的根本原理,来理解这场论辩。从索绪尔开始的关于理据性的讨论,皮尔斯理论中关于理据性本质的理解,尤其是他对所谓“心想符号”中关于连续性的特殊观点;雅柯布森对符号双轴操作原理,以及他对修辞与双轴关系类比的卓见。所有这些看法汇合在一起,让我们可以把连续性视为符号学必须注意的“第四理据性”。人工智能产生文本所用的连接方式,似乎跳过了显性理据控制的句法与逻辑,但是人工智能系统对词元连接方式的特殊处理,显露出连续性的重要性。The composition of AI texts has aroused huge debate.It might be possible to understand it in the light of a series of principles that might have been neglected in the discussion.The discussion of motivatedness since Ferdinand de Saussure,the understanding reached by Charles S Peirce on motivations,especially his idea of continuity in what he called“thought-sign”,as well as Roman Jacobson’s opinion of rhetoric poles in comparison with the Double-Axes operations.Those principles put together,it is not far-reaching to suggest that“continuity”could be regarded as the Fourth Motivation.The process of AI producing texts seems to skip grammar or logic,yet its handling of the connection between tokens is reminiscent of the principle of continuity.
