汉英“额”(forehead)隐喻词簇异同及其体认语言学--文化脚本理据阐发

摘　　要：隐喻是人类认识世界和探索世界的一大工具,Lakoff和Johnson于1980年联袂发表的著作《我们赖以生存的隐喻》标志着认知隐喻学的隆重降世。身体是人类认识世界、感知世界的起点和物质基础,以此产生的人体隐喻贯穿人类认知构建的始终。其中,“额”(forehead)作为身体的一个重要而显著的面前部位,以此为源域的隐喻在汉英语言中均广泛存在。本研究利用CCL和COCA语料库收集涉及“额”及隐喻词簇的语料,以体认语言学为理论依据,归纳总结汉英“额”相同之处,并结合文化脚本进行跨语言比较与分析阐释,发现汉英“额”隐喻具有实物、空间、情绪、状态、亲密关系、表达显眼意义六大相同意象,在历史背景、礼仪、社会管理、宗教等方面文化脚本中存在精细差别,进一步探究两种语言中“额”隐喻生成机理和背后动因。本文力图通过这一个样例来推动呈现跨语言整体人体隐喻表现的比较研究全景。Metaphor is a great tool for understanding and exploring the world.Lakoff and Johnson published their groundbreaking monograph Metaphors We Live By in 1980,which marks the birth of cognitive metaphorology.The body is the starting point and foundation of human cognition and perception of the world,and the body metaphors run through the entire construction of human cognition.Among them is the metaphor of the“forehead”as an important and prominent frontal part of the body,from which the source domain widely prevails in Chinese and English.This study employs CCL and COCA corpora to collect the corpora involving the“forehead”and its metaphorical morphological clusters.Based upon cognitive linguistics,this study summarizes the similarities between Chinese and English forehead metaphors and conducts cross-language comparisons and analyses combined with cultural scripts.It is found that Chinese and English forehead metaphors share five images,including physical object,space,emotion,state,intimate relationship,and conspicuousness,as well as the subtle differences in cultural scripts such as historical background,etiquette,social management,idiomaticity,and religion between the two languages,exploring the operating mechanism and underlying motivation behind the generation of forehead metaphors in Chinese and English languages.It is attempted to employ this case to promote the overall comparative study of cross-language human body metaphorical performance.
