摘　　要：撒马尔罕是乌兹别克斯坦第二大城市,也是这个国家最古老的城市。它现在是撒马尔罕州的首府,但一千多年前这里曾经是帖木儿帝国的首都。许多人曾经居住在这儿,包括帖木儿和其他很多民众。作为帝国的中心,它也有当时最优秀的哲学家、诗人和科学家。Samarkand is the second-largest and the oldest city in Uzbekistan. It is the capital of Samarkand Region, but more than 1,000 years ago, it was the capital of the Timur Empire. Many people lived here,including the Emperor Timur and so many other people. As the center of the Empire, it also had the best philosophers,poets, and scientists of their time.
