文明史观与中国历史叙述——基于大学通识教育的思考

摘　　要：文明史观起源于近两个世纪前的西方社会,其中尤以斯宾格勒在历史哲学层面关于比较文明观念的探讨最具理论意义。他关于文明概念的阐释对我们认识文明史,以及重新思考此种观念下的中国历史叙述,都具有重要的借鉴和参考价值。在辨析“文明”与“文化”“国家”概念的基础上,文明史观念和方法的优势得以展现,它使中国历史的叙述内容得以拓展,逻辑更为顺畅,对于整体地理解中华文明的特质别具意义。大学通识教育中有关中华文明史的讲述逻辑和内容,为文明史观下的中国历史叙述和具体实践提供了典型的样例。在通识教育中应用这种视角和方法,对于建立起对中国历史和文化的整体认知和思考皆有帮助,也是对文明史观一种有益的尝试。The concept of the history of civilizations originated in western societies,with Spengler’s discussion of the concept of comparative civilization at the level of the philosophy of history being the most theoretically significant.His interpretation of the concept of civilization has important lessons and references for understanding of the history of civilization,as well as for rethinking the narrative of Chinese history under this concept.The advantages of the concept and methodology of the history of civilizations are demonstrated on the basis of the identification of the concepts of“civilization”and“culture”“nation”.It expands the content of the narrative of Chinese history,and is of particular significance in understanding the qualities of Chinese civilization as a whole.Applying this perspective and methodology in liberal arts education is helpful in building a holistic understanding and thinking about Chinese history and culture,and is also a useful practical attempt to develop a historical view of civilization.
