摘 要:The history of the study of American children's mental health encompasses three branches:child psychohistory, child psychiatric history, and child medical social history. It has witnessed the integration, innovation and development of such sciences as medicine, history, and psychology. In this review,it is proved that American child psychohistory and psychiatric history, while emphasizing the"inner child"and"treatment of illness",are limited by their lack of integration of the social and pathological aspects of mental illness.During the mid-to late-2Oth century, the history of American children's mental health emerged within the framework of the new medical social history of children. It made a significant breakthrough by using the new social history to establish a biopsychosocial model from the perspective of medical social history, which has demonstrated an interdisciplinary and holisticapproach.
