Objective To explore the effect of the whole-course nutrition management model based on fast track surgery on the prevention of postoperative complications and nutritional status of patients with esophageal cancer. Methods From May 2021 to July 2024,a total of 72 postoperative patients with esophageal cancer who were treated in the 989th Hospital of the Joint Logistics Support Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army were selected. The patients were divided into two groups by random number table method, the control group and the observation group, with 36 cases in each group. The control group received routine nutritional intervention, and the observation group received the whole-course nutritional management model based on fast track surgery. The perioperative indicators, nutritional status and postoperative complications of the two groups were recorded. Results Compared with the control group, the observation group had shorter time to first exhaust, time to first defecation, time to get out of bed,and length of hospital stay(P<0.05),higher levels of BW,BMI,Hb and Alb(P<0.05),and a lower incidence of postoperative complications(8.33%)(P<0.05).Conclusion The whole-course nutrition management model based on fast track surgery can significantly improve the nutritional status of patients with esophageal cancer after surgery and effectively prevent the occurrence of postoperative complications.
