Feng Beizhong’s latest novel The Invisible Power uses metaphors and symbolic techniques to narrate grand themes such as people and things, people and nature, life and death, good and evil, through the story of children Bai Pangdou and his myna.It writes a history of children’s spiritual growth, highlighting the hidden and powerful shaping power of natural things, regional customs, national spirit, and cultural memory on individual inner growth.Cultural semiotics, represented by Lotman, believes that symbols form texts, texts form cultures, cultures form symbol circles, and cultural inheritance and innovation are achieved through dialogue.Based on the theoretical perspective of cultural semiotics, starting from the symbolic representation of regional space, metaphorical expression of character dialogue, and spiritual construction of the subject, this paper analyzes the rich cultural connotations of“Invisible Forces”,explains the logical path from natural writing to subjective construction, and highlights the author’s philosophical reflection on the origin of existence and poetic expression of exploring the meaning of individual life.
