高质量科技创新、区域制度发展与企业绩效——来自制造业企业的经验证据  

High-quality technological innovation,regional institutional development,and firm performance:empirical evidence from Chinese manufacturing enterprises

摘　　要：基于2011—2017年沪深制造业上市企业样本展开实证研究,发现:(1)创新质量对企业绩效有正向影响,处于知识产权保护、要素市场发展、中介市场发育和对外开放程度水平较低地区的企业难以在高质量创新中获益;(2)非国有企业、无政治关联的企业、非出口型企业在高质量创新商业化阶段对区域制度的依赖更强;(3)区域制度通过提高销售额和降低成本两个渠道帮助企业在高质量创新中获益。高质量创新商业化绩效的不确定性限制了企业进一步投资高质量创新的意愿,企业创新能力不足是我国创新质量难以提升的重要原因。提高区域制度发展对高质量创新转化为企业绩效至关重要。How does high-quality technological innovation translate into firm performance?Drawing on empirical data from Shanghai and Shenzhen-listed manufacturing firms(2011—2017),this study reveals the following results:1.Innovation quality positively impacts firm performance,yet firms in regions with underdeveloped institutions,including weak intellectual property protection,factor markets,intermediary markets and openness,struggle to reap benefits from high-quality innovation.2.Non-state-owned enterprises,firms without political connections,and non-exporting firms exhibit stronger reliance on regional institutions during the commercialization phase of high-quality innovation.3.Regional institutions enhance the returns on innovation through two channels:boosting sales and reducing operational costs.However,uncertainty in commercializing high-quality innovations dampens firms’willingness to invest in innovation.Coupled with weak innovation capabilities,this constitutes a critical barrier to improving innovation quality in China.The findings underscore that advancing regional institutional development is essential for bridging the gap between high-quality innovation and firm performance.
