摘 要:基于复杂动态系统理论,本研究对289名中国英语学习者进行一学期的追踪,采用历时研究设计,同时关注学习者英语口语复杂性系统发展的个体内变异性和个体间变化。研究采用创新性研究方法——增长混合模型,对1156份口语数据进行分析,以识别学习者口语复杂性(句法和词汇)发展的群体异质性特征。研究结果表明学习者口语句法复杂性呈两种发展态势,分别为下降趋势和上升趋势;词汇多样性则呈现出稳定趋势和下降趋势两种态势。研究进一步采用平行过程增长混合模型探究学习者口语句法复杂性和词汇多样性之间的历时关系,结果发现二者的发展在一定程度上是相对独立的。具体而言,句法复杂性变化趋势可显著预测词汇多样性变化趋势,而词汇多样性的变化则无法预测句法复杂性的变化。本研究揭示了二语口语发展的群体差异性,同时拓展了基于复杂动态系统理论在二语发展研究中的适用性。在实践应用层面,本研究不仅为语言教育实践者提供了有价值的见解,也为语言研究者精细刻画群体语言发展特征提供了新的研究视角和工具。Based on Complex Dynamic Systems Theory(CDST),the present study employed a longitudinal research design to track 289 Chinese English learners for one academic semester,focusing on both the intra-individual variability and inter-individual variation of oral English complexity.Adopting an innovative research approach,the growth mixture model,1156 speech samples were analyzed to identify the heterogeneity in learners'oral complexity(syntactic and lexical)development.The findings revealed two distinct trajectories for syntactic complexity development:a decreasing trend and an increasing trend.For lexical diversity,two developmental patterns emerged:a stable trend and a declining trend.The study further investigated the longitudinal relationship between syntactic and lexical diversity using a parallel process growth mixture model and found a certain degree of independence in their developments.Specifically,the developmental patterns of syntactic complexity significantly predicted those of lexical diversity,while the reverse relationship was not observed.This study revealed group differences in second language oral development and expanded the applicability of CDST in second language development research.In terms of practical applications,this study not only provides valuable insights for practitioners but also offers new perspectives and tools for language researchers to precisely delineate group language development patterns.
