摘  要:新发展格局下,发展新质生产力已成为中国式现代化建设的行动指南。新质发展的内涵对外语学科提出了新要求,即创新发展、转型发展和高质量发展。外语学科的创新发展,就是在守正学科之“本领”的基础上创新人才培养模式;其转型发展就是由目前的质态转向新的质态;其高质量发展就是走内涵式+跨界并举发展之路。外语学科要实现新质发展,应摆脱外语工具观的传统观念,凸显外语学科在文化文明交流互鉴中的“沟通中外”“借鉴”与“传播”的社会文化价值,并通过在外语教育中提升吸收其他文化文明的“借鉴力”和增强中华文化文明的“传播力”,以实现其新质发展。Under the new development paradigm,the development of new quality productive forces has become the key guideline for the construction of Chinese modernization.This trend has put forward new requirements for the foreign language discipline,promoting it to move forward in the directions of innovative development,transformation development and high-quality development.The innovative development means actively exploring new talent cultivation models while adhering to the core competencies of the discipline.The transformation development requires the foreign language discipline to shift from the current state to a new state.The high-quality development requires the foreign language discipline to take the path of both connotative and cross-disciplinary development.To achieve these new quality developments,the foreign language discipline must abandon the traditional view of foreign language as a tool and meanwhile enhance its sociocultural values of“communicating”“absorbing”and“disseminating”in the exchange and mutual learning of cultures and civilizations.Thus,the best way to materialize these goals is to cultivate“the ability to draw on experiences”from other cultures and civilizations as well as“the ability to disseminate”Chinese cultures and civilizations in foreign language education.
