Historically, plants have been viewed by researchers as the green backdrop to human activities. However,in recent years,Anthropology has expanded its boundaries to include multispecies and“more⁃than⁃human”perspectives.Animals, plants, and other organisms have become central to being attentive and theorization, with biologists, anthropologists, and artists drawing significant inspiration from mycorrhizal relationships. While fungi are not strictly classified as plants, their critical nature—half plant, half non⁃plant—reveals an entangled state of existence between organic and inorganic entities.Achieving symbiosis requires crossing species boundaries, and studying symbiosis necessitates transcending disciplinary limits.Current research on fungi highlights complex anthropological, artistic, and scientific questions—how to understand this life form that interweaves with all things, entangles with myriad phenomena, and exhibits both resilience and a strong symbiotic inclination.Fungi thrive in the ruins of late capitalism or the“post⁃human”era, serving as a powerful model for contemplating sustainable coexistence.
