Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites produced by fungi, which not only have a serious impact on feed, animal health, and production efficiency, but also pose a serious threat to human food security. The types of feed materials for ruminant animals are more complex than those for single stomach animals, and materials such as silage, hay, and straw are more prone to the growth of fungal toxins. The rumen is one of the most important digestive organs in ruminants, and its health directly affects the digestion and absorption of nutrients by ruminants. After entering the rumen, mycotoxins can disrupt the homeostasis of the rumen environment by affecting rumen microorganisms and other means, thereby damaging rumen health. This article mainly outlined the effects and mechanisms of different types of fungal toxins on rumen health, aimed to provide reference for the prevention and control of fungal toxins in ruminant animals in the future.
