摘　　要：林语堂是二十世纪的著名翻译家,是少有的学贯中西的学者。其生平虽非传奇佳话,但其理论思想,学术钻研以及他在翻译,著作方面的精深造诣却颇为丰富,堪称大家。他提倡性灵,被称为是"幽默大师"的第一人。在翻译理论方面有自己独到的见解:忠实,通顺和美的标准。该文将尝试探讨翻译家林语堂的理论思想,以期获得更深刻的翻译启示。Lin Yutang, a world-famous literary translator in 20 thcentury, is an outstanding scholar throughout East and West. It's not a legend during all his life, but his thoughts about literature and translation, his works, are prolific. He, as the first one called'humor the master', advocating formal personality, has put forward his own translation theory: faithfulness, fluency, and aesthetics. The paper is designed to explore his theories so as to perform well in translating.
