摘 要:人们都说:外语学习者由于语言能力不足,易犯语法错误;非本国语的人由于在语言行为中判断失误,会犯语用错误.由此可以看出:语言能力和语言行为问题是外语学习者的关键问题.因此,语言教学的任务就是要解决这些问题,以便使外语学习者提高理解度,表达适当得体,交际流畅有效.本文的目的是重新审视交际能力中的潜在能力,并将这种潜在能力与词汇、语法、语用习得和英语教学联系在一起探讨.As we all know, a language learner is apt, owing to a gap in competence, to commit a grammatical error, and a non native speaker may, owing to a misjudgement in performance, commit a pragmatic failure. According to this generalization, language learners or non native speakers have the problems of both competence and performance. Therefore, it is the task of language teaching to solve these problems. As a result, the learner will be less likely to commit errors and more apt to perform appropriately. It is the purpose of this paper to reassess the notion of the underlying competence as an ingredient of communicative competence, and to relate reassessment to the role of grammar and lexis, or 'lexicogrammar', as well as the concerns of language teaching.
