摘　　要：在简述当前国内外远程教育现状的基础上 ,从不同时期对远程教育定义的变迁中揭示远程教育是为满足越来越多的人接受高质量教育的一种新的教育模式。论述了现代远程教育的特点以及高等院校图书馆应对远程教育新模式如何满足网上读者的信息需求 ,与时俱进 。On the basis of summarizing the current situation of tele education,the paper reveals that tele education is a new education mode to meet the desire of getting high quality education by more and more people from the changes of deferent definition to tele education in deferent periods,discusses modern tele education's features and academic libraries' reply to tele￣education new mode to meet online readers' information requirement,develop with time and develop in step.
