摘　　要：当代隐喻理论已不再局限于修辞学或文体学的传统,而把隐喻看作人类认知活动的结果和工具。雅式句、名词化是语法隐喻在科技语体中应用的结果。语法隐喻是一个使语义具体化的过程,是科技英语写作和翻译的重要手段。Contemporary metaphor theories have no longer been confined within the boundaries of traditional rhetoric or stylistic studies while regarding metapho r as the result as well as the tool of human cognitive activities.Application of grammatical metaphor leads to attic sentence and nominalization.Grammatical met ap hor is a process which makes semantics concrete and plays an important role in E nglish writing and translation for science and technology.
