委婉语的文化探源

摘　　要：委婉语是语言使用中人们协调人际关系的一个重要手段.它是社会文化的全息胚,体现语言与社会的相互关系.本文从跨文化交际学角度,讨论了委婉语与个人主义、平等取向和面子论的关系以论证文化影响语言发展这一社会语言学观点的正确性.Euphemism, an important means to coordinate human relationship in the communication, is itself tinged with sociocultural features, revealing the interrelationship between language and society. The present paper discusses, from the perspective of intercultural communication, the euphemism in the light of such cultural influences as individualism, solidarity and face theory.
