摘　　要：通过对《诗经·召南·甘棠》“勿翦勿拜”中的“拜”字及与其相关的“拔、擘、掰、扒”几字形音义三方面的考察,本文认为此“拜”字不是通假字,而是用其本义“折弯”。常用的“拜礼”义是由“折弯”引申出来的。The word bai(拜)of Wujian Wubai (勿翦勿拜) in Shijing(诗经) and four words concerned, 'ba(拔), bai(擘), bai(掰) and ba(扒), are studied in three aspects, which are structure, sound and meaning. Our conclusion is that bai'(拜礼) isn't a homophone and its original meaning 'bend' is used in this sentence. The meaning of 'make a courtesy call' () is its extended meaning.
