摘　　要：高校在经济和社会发展特别是实施"科教兴国"战略中的特殊地位,决定了其在实践"三个代表"重要思想过程中的全面性、先导性、基础性作用。我们必须从时代的高度,对高校在实践"三个代表"重要思想中的作用以及发挥这些作用的途径等问题进行深入研究,进一步明确肩负的责任,增强实践"三个代表"重要思想的自觉性、主动性和创造性。The special position of Universities in economic and social development, especially in the strategy of 'development of nation with science and education', results in its whole, pioneer, and basic role in the process of practicing the important thoughts of 'three represents'. We should investigate deeply the function of Universities in practicing the important thought of 'three represents'. From the perspective of modern times, and research the way to utilize the function, and further make sure the responsibility of Universities, and enhance the awareness, initiativeness, and creativeness to practice the important thoughts of 'three represents '.
