摘　　要：宾步程(1879～1943)是20世纪中国最早留学德国的工程专家。担任湖南工业专门学校校长期间(1914～1924),提出"实事求是"校训,为湖南大学校风奠定了良好基础。在机械和矿冶工程方面也是中国近代有影响的人物。Bin Bucheng was one of the earliest engineering experts in the 20th century who got degree in Germany. When he was the president of Hunan Industrial Institute, he put forward the principle of school'Seek truth from fact',which has set a good foundation for the spirit of Hunan University. He is also an important person in mechanism and melting.
