摘　　要：20世纪80年代末期，中国社会科学院民族研究所照那斯图教授曾把一张用叙利亚文写成的碑文拓片的复制件交我研究。当时我只知文字是叙利亚字母，但不知是用何种语言写成。1992年秋当我在德国波恩时，现在德国Halle大学任职的古代叙利亚语专J.Tubach教授告知……The first longest Old Turkic Nestorim inscription in Syriac script was discovered in China. This paper corrected its German version published in UAJb, Bd.l4(1996) in the following points: 1) the concrete unearthed place; 2) correction to the biographical materials of Xindu; 3) the correction to some Turkic words in the Turkic part of the inscription.
