Objective To investigate the clinical significance of expression of CyclinD 1 and p27 kipl in pancreatic carcinoma. Methods Immunohistochemical technique(SABC) was applied to detect the expression of CyclinD 1 and p27 kipl in 42 specimen s of pancreatic carcinoma, 15 of pancreatitis and 20 of normal pancreatic tissue. ResultsThe Positive rate of CyclinD 1 protein in pancreatic carcinoma was 71 43%, much hig her than that in pancreatitis and normal pancreatic tissue (P<0.05),p27 kipl pro tein positive rate in pancreatic carcinoma was 45 24%, lower than that in pancreatitis (P <0 05), p27 kipl protein positive-expression was correlated signincantly with tumor cell differe tiation, clinical stage and lymph node metastasis (P<0 05). There was no significant correlat ion between the two proteins. Neither of them was correlated with the age, gender, tumor site. Conclusions The expression of CyclinD 1 in pancreatic carcinoma tissue is s ignincantly increased but the expression of p27 kipl is decreased.CyclinD 1 and p27 kipl might pla y an important role in the generating and progress of pancreatic carcinoma.
