The main motivations for low bit rate audio coding are needed to minimize transmission costs or provide cost efficient storage. The algorithm of adaptive bit allocation wavelet transform coding is a high efficient audio compression and coding algorithm which can encode the 705.6kbit/s hi fi audio into the bit rate from 256kbit/s to 32kbit/s with good audio qualities.
