摘　　要：城市作为一个开放的复合体系,本身是不可持续的,然而在全球可持续发展中,城市却扮演着不可或缺的重要角色。本文从生态足迹的角度入手分析城市与可持续发展的关系;并提出建设可持续发展城市的近、远期策略。As nodes of energy and materialconsumption, cities are not by themselves sustain-able because of high dependence on importing re-sources from outside. But they can play an active rolein global sustainability. The aim of this paper is toemploy ecological footprint to assess the ecologicalrole of cities and to analyze the relationship betweencity and sustainability. Lastly, the author addressessome possible intervention policies, which may helpto govern sustainable city.
