摘　　要：A trial excavation was carried out in 1997 on the Zhangsidun site in Anqing City, Anhui, in an area of 46 sq m. The site occupies nearly 30,000 sq m in total. In the excavated area 10 ash-pits, two ash-trenches and a tomb of the Neolithic Age and four ash-pits of the Shang-Zhou period were revealed. Stone implements and pottery vessels form the main objects unearthed. The Neolithicremains are rather complex in culture, containing cultural elements from eastern Hubei, while the Shang-Zhou ones must represent a native culture with the elements absorbed from the Zhou culture.
