CD4Objective To study the relationship between the levels of CD44V6,PTEN and malignant transformation of hydatidiform mole. Methods The expressions of CD44V6 and PTEN in 15 samples of normal chorionic villus and 55 cases of hydatidiform mole were detected by means of immunohistochemical staining and image analysis system for quality and quantity tests. Results The expression of CD44V6 in normal pregnancy villus could not be detected. The levels of CD44V6 expression in non-deteriorative and deteriorative hydatidiform mole were significantly higher than those in the normal controls(P<0.01).The level of CD44V6 expression in deteriorative hydatidiform mole was significantly higher than that in non-deteriorative hydatidiform mole (P<0.01).The levels of PTEN expression in the non-deteriorative and deteriorative hydatidiform mole were significantly lower than that in the control (P<0.01).The level of PTEN expression in deteriorative hydatidiform mole was significantly lower than that in the non-deteriorative hydatidiform mole (P<0.01).Conclusion There is correlation between the levels of CD44V6 and PTEN expressions and malignancy of hydatidiform mole. The expressions of CD44V6 and PTEN might be used as the new markers for prediction of malignant transformation of hydatidiform mole.
