摘　　要：介绍了在使用UML技术开发数据库系统时涉及到的设计和应用问题,结合CASE工具PowerDesigner开发环境,从面向对象数据建模、概念数据建模和物理数据建模三方面探讨了YMDBS数据库设计的过程,展示了用UML开发数据库的步骤和技术.This paper discusses the design and application issues in the process of building database system YMDBS by virture of UML techniques. With the help of a powerful CASE toolPowerDesigner, we demonstrate the key techniques involving database implementation from three aspects: object oriented data modeling conceptual data modeling, and physical data modeling. The database system is a key part of the national 863 project 'Multi-media Intelligence System for Maize Production'.
