摘　　要：人类和其他生物的基因组、功能基因组知识和相关信息技术将使口腔疾病的预防、诊断和治疗发生革命性的变化 ,新技术的发展和使用要求口腔执业医师接受更广泛的培训 ,口腔医学院的课程设置必须改革 ,一些新的口腔专科医师将会出现。The knowledge base on human and non-human genomics,functional genomics and associated information of technologies are serving to revolutionize the oral health promotion,risk assessment using biomarkers,and disease prevention,diagnostis,treatment and the full range of therapeutics for craniofacial,oral,and dental diseases and disorders. The development and implementation of these innovative dental therapies will require intensive education of current practitioners. Considerable restructuring of dental school curricula will need to take place,and emergence of a new dental specialists are anticipated.
