摘　　要：本文首先在信息理论框架内提出平衡翻译概念,认为译者在翻译中的首要任务就是平衡传输负载。译者在向译文读者传递原文文化信息时,一方面要保证信息足量,充分利用译文读者的信道容量,另一方面又要考虑到译文读者的信道容量相对狭窄的情况,防止信息传输过载。因此,平衡翻译有助于译文顺利进入译入语系统,达到交际的目的,从而体现译者的主体意识。This paper puts forward 'balance translation' as a new model for cultural translation within the framework of Information Theory. It argues from the perspective of adequate message load in communication that 'balance translation' will enable the translator to realize his subjectivity and help the translation to result in the target language system.
