摘　　要：美国黑人女作家托妮.莫里森在其小说《秀拉》中成功地刻画了一位黑人文化传统的叛逆者—秀拉。分析了秀拉寻求自我的复杂历程以及寻求自我失败的原因。指出黑人妇女实现自我只能在黑人社区内完成,任何背离黑人文化传统的个人价值求索只能以失败告终。In the novel Sula, Toni Morrison successfully depicts a rebel of the black culture and tradition-Sula. This thesis analyses Sula's success and failure in pursuit of self-identity and the reasons of her failure. Morrison also points out that black women's pursuit of self-identity can be realized only within the black community, any pursuit of betraying the black culture and tradition is doomed to fail.
