摘　　要：自由主义一词最早源自西班牙语,在19世纪初被首次用作西班牙自由党的名称,随着其内涵的不断发展,后在欧洲及北美地区广泛使用,逐渐成为代表资产阶级思想的思想流派。自由主义开始产生明确的定义是在提出了个人能够成为稳定社会的基础的概念后,而这个概念首先在洛克的作品——《政府论》中被提出。约翰·洛克,英国自由主义思想家之一,是一个具有深厚哲学素养的思想家,同时也被认为是英国最早的经验主义者之一,在《政府论》一书中,洛克以经验主义认识论为起点,系统阐述了其自由主义政治哲学的基本内容,他的自由主义哲学思想对西方哲学史产生了重大影响,他使自由的观念在世界上广泛传播。对洛克自由主义政治哲学思想的研究不仅能够进一步了解到自由主义在西方意识形态领域发挥的重要作用,还能够为我国建设法治国家、深化政治体制改革起到积极的促进作用。The term liberalism first originated in Spanish and was first used as the name of the Spanish Liberal Party in the early 19th century. As its connotations continued to develop, it was later widely used in Europe and North America and gradually became a school of thought representing bourgeois thought. Liberalism began to produce a clear definition after the introduction of the concept that the individual could be the basis of a stable society, and this concept was first introduced in Locke’s work The Treatise of Government. John Locke, one of the British liberal thinkers, was a thinker with deep philosophical knowledge and is also considered one of the earliest British empiricists. In his book The Treatise of Government, Locke took empiricist epistemology as a starting point and systematically elaborated the basic elements of his liberal political philosophy, and his liberal philosophical ideas had a significant impact on the history of Western philosophy, and he made the concept of freedom widely spread in the world. The study of Locke’s liberal political philosophy not only can further understand the important role played by liberalism in the field of Western ideology, but also can play a positive role in promoting the construction of a rule of law state and deepening the reform of political system in China.
