关联理论视角下汉语典故英译的翻译方法研究——以《长生殿》英译本中典故翻译方法为例

摘　　要：《长生殿》作为京剧的传统剧目,反映了当时历史时期政治文化生活,具有中华文化特色的代表性。其中典故的运用使得《长生殿》增色不少,同时也成为翻译的难点。本文从关联理论出发,对杨宪益和戴乃迭夫妇采用的各种翻译方法的适用情况进行归纳总结,同时分析各种翻译方法的语用效果。作者发现,总体而言,杨宪益和戴乃迭夫妇的译文尽可能地跨越语言的樊篱,帮助原文与译文重建了关联,交际意图得以实现,进而促进中华文化的传播。最后,为关联理论视角下汉语典故的英译提供一些参考和借鉴。As the traditional repertoire of Beijing Opera, Chang Sheng Dian reflects the political and cultural life of that historical period, and is representative of Chinese culture. The use of allusions makes Chang Sheng Dian more attractive, and also makes obstacles in translation. Based on Relevance Theory, this paper summarizes the application of various translation methods adopted by Yang Xianyi and Gladys Yang, and analyzes the pragmatic effects of various translation methods. The author finds that, on the whole, Yang Xianyi’s and Dai Naidi’s translations transcend the language barrier as much as possible, help the original text and the translation to re-establish the relevance, realize the communicative intention, and thus promote the spread of Chinese culture. Finally, it provides some references for English translation of Chinese allusions from the perspective of relevance theory.
