摘  要:Tumours of the digestive system include a number of malignant tumours such as oesophageal, gastric and colorectal cancers, which have the highest incidence and mortality rates in the world. Their occurrence is related to a variety of factors, such as diet, environment and genetics. As a key enzyme in the process of folate metabolism, MTHFR gene polymorphism plays an important role in the pathogenesis and development of gastrointestinal tumours. This paper provides a brief review of the relationship between MTHFR polymorphisms and digestive tumours, with a view to identifying the genetic effects of MTHFR, exploring the pathogenesis of digestive tract tumours and developing more effective prevention and treatment strategies.Tumours of the digestive system include a number of malignant tumours such as oesophageal, gastric and colorectal cancers, which have the highest incidence and mortality rates in the world.
