中国英语学习者的汉语多义词跨语言联想实验研究

摘  要:多义词是十分普遍的语言现象,多义词研究在哲学、语言学、心理学等领域均受到密切关注并广为探讨。本文通过跨语言词汇联想实验,考察中国英语学习者对汉语多义词的跨语言加工过程,探讨语境类型、歧义类型和词频对汉语多义词跨语言联想反应的影响。结果显示:语境因素对多义词跨语言联想反应结果存在一定影响,具体表现为引申义语境下主要翻译对等词的提取率要明显小于基本义语境,以及无语境情况下翻译对等词的提取率;多义词词频与歧义类型对多义词的跨语言通达和表征不存在明显不对称性影响。研究结果支持了分布式概念表征模型,也体现了中国英语学习者二语词汇习得过程的复杂性和灵活性以及词义典型性和语境输入对词汇通达的影响。Polysemy is a very common linguistic phenomenon.The study of polysemous words has received attention and been widely discussed in the fields of philosophy,linguistics,and psychology.In this study,through word association tests,Chinese polysemous words in cross-language processing and related factors(including contexts,ambiguity types,and word frequency)were investigated.The results show:first,the context has a certain effect on the cross-language association response of polysemy words.The concrete manifestation is that the extraction rate of the main translation equivalent words in the extended sense context is significantly less than that in the basic sense context and the contextless context.Second,polysemous word frequency and ambiguity type have no obvious asymmetry effect on the cross-language communication and mental representation of polysemous words.The research results support the Distributed Conceptual Feature Model,and also reflect the complexity and flexibility of the second language vocabulary acquisition process of Chinese EFL learners,as well as the impact of word meaning typicality and contextual input on vocabulary access.
