论张闻天在外国文学翻译和研究领域的重要贡献

摘　　要：张闻天同志不仅是一位杰出的无产阶级革命家和理论家,而且也是一位优秀的作家、翻译家和评论家。为探索救国救民之路,他曾东渡日本,进而到美国,又北赴苏联,国外的学习和生活经历,不仅使他增加了丰富的知识和阅历,也为他的文学创作和翻译奠定了坚实基础。他先后完成了近75万字的译著、译述、80多万字的文学创作和10多万字的文学评论。不仅对"五四"新文化运动的发展起到了积极推进作用,而且为我国的外国文学翻译和研究做出了重要贡献。An outstanding proletarian theorist and a well-known writer,translator and literary critic,Zhang Wentian had once done much in probing into the way of saving the country and people in many of his trips to Japan,the U.S.and later the Soviet Union,which greatly broadened his knowledge,enriched his experience and helped him lay a solid foundation in literary translation and creation.He fulfilled translations of near 750 thousand words,wrote works of more than 800 thousand words and literary comments of more than 100 thousand words,which marked his great contribution to both the New Culture Movement of the May Fourth Movement and the research and translation of foreign literature in Chinese history.
