摘　　要：结合重庆工学院发展方向 ,论述了设立理科类专业对完善该院学科结构、提高办学水平的重要性 ;分析了在该院建立应用物理系的必要性和可行性 ,并对理科学科建设和专业设置提出了适应市场需要 ,选准专业方向 。Based on the developing orientation of Chongqing Institute of Technology (CIT), this paper discusses the importance of establishing science courses to the perfection of the disciplinary structure and the improvement of school-running levels of CIT. It also analyses the necessity and feasibility of establishing department of applied physics in CIT and puts forward some concrete suggestions as to the disciplinary construction and the setup of courses such as being adapted to market demand, pinpointing specialty direction, and realizing sustainable development.
