摘　　要：小说《米德尔马契》中女主人公多萝西娅的再婚,被许多评论认为是一败笔。本文认为,多萝西娅的再婚,标志着她思想的成熟、对19世纪英国社会消费主义的反抗,以及对历史大趋势的清醒认识和适应。Dorothea's second marriage in Middlemarch is often considered a flaw of the author.This essay aims to prove that Dorothea's second marriage signifies her maturity,her rebellion against the consumerism in the 19th-century England,and her conformity with the general trend of history.
