摘　　要：为了大力提高高职学生的英语阅读能力,笔者对陕西省5所高职院校250名英语专业学生及20名英语教师进行了问卷调查。文章分析了高职英语阅读教与学的现状,笔者在教学实践的基础之上以《二十一世纪英文报》为例指出了英文报刊阅读的优越性,尝试性地提出以英文报刊阅读辅助高职英语阅读教学的新模式,以期完善高职英语阅读教学,提高高职学生的语用能力。To improve vocational college students’ English reading ability,the author made a questionnaire investigation and interviewed 250 students and 20 teachers in 5 vocational colleges in Shaanxi province.According to the questionnaire and interview,the paper starts from current situation of vocational English reading teaching and learning,analyzes superiority of English newspaper reading based on 21st Century and then tentatively puts forward the new teaching mode of English newspaper-assisted English reading in vocational colleges.
