摘　　要：蔡元培是一位学贯中西的高等教育家,他既善于远取中国古代大学教育之精华,又乐于近师欧美大学教育之长处,熔为一炉,为其所用,形成了独具特色的大学职能思想。蔡元培的大学职能思想对于我们今天全面而正确地理解其大学职能思想有着积极的借鉴意义。Cai Yuanpei was a higher educationist who had a thorough knowledge of both Western and traditional Chinese culture,he was not only good at taking the essence of university education of ancient China,but also willing to learn strengths of university education of Europe and America.He dissolved them into a unity for his use,and formed a unique thought of university functions.Today,the exploration on Cai's thought may help us greatly in comprehensive and correct understanding of his thought of university functions.
