摘 要:The ultimate goal of English Language Teaching(ELT)is to train students to acquire the ability to communicate in English.It's generally agreed that good teaching is good communication between teacher and students and also among students,and the best efficiency in ELT comes from effective co- operation between the teacher and the students.Therefore, teacher's role as an organizer or a director in the class is as necessary as his or her role of a participant in students' activities. This paper focuses on the analysis of the possible roles a teacher is supposed to take in an ELT class by presenting the practical approaches and procedures of teaching to develop students' communicative abilities.英语教学的目的是使学生最终获得用英语进行交际的能力,因此,成功的英语语言教学需要通过教师与学生以及学生间的语言沟通训练才能得以实现。这就需要英语教师在课堂上扮演不同的角色以期对课堂活动进行有效的组织、引导和参与,从而使学生的听、说、读、写能力全方面得以提高。本文通过对教师在课堂教学活动中的角色变化分析提出一些有效的现代英语教学法。
