摘  要:英语是一门人文性和工具性并重的课程,而传统教学偏重工具性忽视人文性,造成学生唯考试至上观点和学习方法。事实上,在大学英语教学中渗透一定的人文知识不但能提高学生的英语成绩,而且有利于利于提高学生的综合素质。实践证明,英语教学的每一个环节,都有一定的人文知识可供教师挖掘,单词就是其中一环。单词学习是英语学习的基本环节,而单词的记忆又是学生花费时间和精力最多的一环。因此,在单词教学中渗透一定的人文知识,既有助于学生对英语知识的学习,又能帮助学生奠定全面发展的基础。English is a course paid attention to humanistic knowledge and professional knowledge,but traditional English teaching attached importance to the latter and neglected the former which made students take exams as priority in their learning. Actually, certain humanistic knowledge in College English teaching can promote students' overall quality as well as better their results in English exams. In teaching, there is humanistic knowledge to be dug in the process of teaching among which vocabulary teaching is included. Words learning are a basic one in English learning and students take much time and energy to remember them. Hence, digging the humanistic knowledge in English words is good for students to learn English and lay foundation for their comprehensive development promote.
