从8级翻译测试看学生亟待加强的几个方面

摘　　要：翻译(英汉互译)是全国高等学校英语专业8级考试很重要的组成部分。它既是对学生综合语言能力的一种有效测试手段,从中我们也能对学生的语言功底和文化素养有较为全面的了解和把握。本文就我系学生做1995-2000年八级翻译试卷中出现的问题,对目前英专学生亟待加强的几个方面进行了分析。A major component of TEM-8 (Test for English Majors, Grade Eight), E/C translation is not only an effective means of testingthe overall language proficiency and translation ability of English majors but it also enables teachers to gain a better and more compre-hensive understanding of whether the English majors have had a good grounding in language and cultural literacy. Based on an analysisof the problems detected in the translations (1995—2000) done by TEM-8 candidates of the author’s department, this paper discussesa number of aspects that need strengthening for English majors.
