近代来华传教士与进化论

摘　　要：文章认为，近代来华传教士主要是从自然神学和启示神学的基本理念出发来分析和批评进化论，目的在于维护基督教信仰，其中多数传教士是怀疑和否定进化论的，但也确有少数传教士持欣赏和肯定的态度。尤为值得注意的是，在批评和反对进化论的意见当中存在一种趋向，即企图在基督教与进化论之间找到契合点，并利用进化论的理论要素来构成进化有神论。所有这一切都说明，对于多数来华传教士而言，在宗教与科学的天平上理性逐渐成为重要砝码。Ths paper holds that it was mainly from the basic idea of natural theology and revealed theology that the missionaries who came to China in modern times analysed and crihcized evolutionsm.Their aim was to maintain Christian faith.The majority of the missionaries discredited and negated evolutionism,but there was indeed minority of them who took appreciative and positive attitude towards evolutionism.It was especially worth notice that among the opinions that criticized and opposed evolutionism there existed a kind of tendency, i.e. attempting to find a coincident point between Christianity and evolutionism,and to utilize the theoretical factors of evolutionism to construct an evolutionary theism.All of these have demonstrated that for the majority of the missionaries who came to China the reason gradually became an important weight on the balance between religion and science. Born in 1961,the author is a Professor of The Department of Politics of Han Shan Teacher's College of Chao Zhou City,Guangdong Province.
