摘　　要：英语否定结构比汉语复杂得多,其表述形式灵活多变,而汉语表述则较为恒定、单一。但是,英 语否定概念有时却表达不明确,易产生歧义,在逻辑方面不如汉语严谨。因此,在英汉互译中,要了解并掌握 英汉否定的差异,根据各自的语言习惯及特点,作相应的转化,提高英汉互译水平。This paper makes a comparison between English negation and Chinese negation in three aspects: the sorts, the essence and the logic of negation, English negation being more complex than Chinese one . The former has all kinds of expressions, but the latter has single and unchangeable ones. However, English negation sometimes produces an unclear and ambiguous meaning. Also, it is less precise than Chinese. Therefore, We should know and grasp these differences, and make a corresponding change according to their language custom and character. Only in this way, can we appreciate the original text and improve our translation
